The “LavaCamp” Triathlon Camp

Dear Athlete!

 

Welcome and thank you for registering for the 2008 “LavaCamp” Triathlon Camp hosted by LifeSport Coaching, in beautiful Waikoloa, Hawaii.  The LifeSport coaches and athletes are looking forward to an exciting week of training, instruction, and fun. We have included the following information to assist you in your preparation for the Camp:

1.        Training Locations

 

The majority of the weekend’s training will take place at the Hilton Waikoloa Village and area.  Directions to the area can be found at http://www.hiltonwaikoloavillage.com . The seminars will take place in the Kohala Ball Room and the majority of the swimming will be at Anaehoomalu Bay – also known as “A-Bay” which is a 10-15 minute walk from the Hilton.

4.         List of Required Gear

 

The following equipment is required of all athletes:

  • Swim suit
  • Goggles  
  • Towel
  • Paddles (optional)
  • Fins (optional)
  • Bike (2nd & 3rd days) Please note ** bike should have a cassette with a 25 or 27 rear cog for climbing
  • Spare tubes / kit to change flat
  • Helmet
  • Running Shoes
  • Athletic clothing
  • Hat
  • Sunscreen
  • Water bottle
  • Snacks/Gels
  • Note pad/pencil

 

 

5.        Nutrition/Hydration

 

Although we have scheduled recovery time and free time into each day, you will be very busy with training sessions and seminars throughout the Camp. It is therefore essential that you plan for proper nutrition and hydration. Individuals are encouraged to have a water bottle with them at all times, containing either water or an energy drink, in order to stay properly hydrated. Please come to Camp each day after an adequate breakfast; it is recommended that you bring a minimum of two (2) snacks, (i.e. sports bars, fruit, nuts, trail mix) with you each day.

 

6.        Waiver

 

You will also be given a waiver on the first day of the camp. Please fill the waiver out and return it to the coach.

Important Information

**Please bring bike for first day

 

 

 

** For all scheduled workouts and seminars:

 

  • Please be on time and come prepared with appropriate clothing for the workout and ensure you bring nutrition (gels/bars)
  • Please always bring water
  • Please ensure you where sunscreen and bring along extra in case you need to re-apply it
  • Please bring a towel with you to the yoga session on Tuesday, April 8th at 9:00am as we will be outside on the Palace Lawn at the Hilton
